Installing QuarkXPress 9

  1. Disable any virus protection software. If you are concerned about a virus infecting your computer, use virus protection software to check the installer and then disable any virus protection software before proceeding.
  2. Double-click the “QuarkXPress 9 Installer” icon.
  3. A warning window displays saying “This package contains a program that determines if the software can be installed. Are you sure you want to continue?”
  4. Click Continue. The QuarkXPress 9 Installer window dialog box displays.
  5. Click Continue. The License dialog box displays.
  6. Read the license agreement carefully. Click Continue. If you accept the terms of the agreement, click Agree. If you do not accept the terms, click Disagree.
    NOTE You must accept the terms of the license agreement to continue.
  7. Click Install on standard install window.
  8. The Authenticate dialog box displays.
  9. Enter your administrator name and password in the appropriate fields and click OK. The Installing QuarkXPress 9 page displays.
  10. A progress bar indicates the progress of the installation.
  11. Click Close to complete the installation.
  12. Choose how you would like to check for software updates in the Quark Update Preferences window.
  13. Click on the QuarkXPress 9 application symbol in the QuarkXPress 9 folder in Applications.
  14. Click Continue in the set up window.
  15. Click Continue in the QuarkXPress Setup Assistant window.
  16. The Validation Code screen displays. Choose Full Install from the Installation Type drop-down menu.
  17. Enter the validation code provided with the installer in the Enter your validation code fields.
  18. Click Continue. The User Registration page displays. Enter your user information.
  19. Click Continue
    If you have a site license using Quark License Administrator, the Quark License Server Details page displays. Enter the Quark License Administrator details for your Primary and Backup servers.
    • If you are using a single full version of QuarkXPress, you will skip this step.
  20. Click Continue in the summary window.
  21. The Authenticate dialog box displays.
  22. Enter your administrator name and password in the appropriate fields and click OK.
  23. Click Continue.
